Review :
"How hard can it be to kill ten men? Do you think you can even just wound a couple?"
We all know The Expendables franchise doubles as a rest home for 1980's action movie geezers. In between shooting scenes, these creaky hombres are probably either playing a game of mahjong, slurping soup, or slapping Salonpas relief patches on each other. I will say that I had a shockingly good time watching The Expendables 3, on the strength of three very lively performances.

Is it even worth it to mention the plot? It's about how his den mother instincts get the better of CIA contractor Barney Ross (Stallone). After the latest harrowing mission, Barney has one of those quiet freak-outs about how his team is old and past their prime and, at this stage, pretty much just tempting fate. He retires his old-ass crew and goes to assemble a much younger, more tech-savvy bunch, his junior Expendables. They're just the sort of whippersnapper world-beaters that would scoff at one of Ross' tactics: "THAT would be a good plan, if it was still 1985."

Mel Gibson is the...
The best yet!
I was so excited in anticipation of this movie and was in no way disappointed. I think Stallone has out done himself this time! I never understand what the critics are ever looking for in a movie like this.... it's just meant for good old fashioned good time fun... action packed from start to finish and the good guys always win!!!! I have to say I think this one was better than the first two.... both of which I loved. More action, more talent (as in # of people in cast) and better story... and the dry wit! What a thrill the additional cast was to see in this movie... ALL OF THEM did a good job! WELCOME BACK WESLEY!!!!!!!!!! MISSED YA! Antonio Banderas was hilarious! Again, there were still a couple of people that I wish had more screen time.... but loved the movie anyway. Obviously, I highly recommend it! What a ride! Thank you Stallone for a truly entertaining flick! It's a must see and must have movie!!!!!!

Stallone ain't too old for this...movie. Consider this review!
I don't know what to rate The Expendables 3, so you'll have to bear with me, examine the facts and make your own conclusions.
On it's own merits as an action movie, The Expendables 3 gets four shining stars EASILY. The action is nearly non-stop, explosive, and the chemistry is fun. But when compared against the great action movies of the Eighties - Die Hard, Rambo, Predator, and Lethal Weapon... Expendables 3 comes up wanting. And the worst part is, it really wants to hearken back to the heyday of its stars.

Lionsgate thinks that by getting together all the heavy hitters of the Eighties: Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford...and some more modern heroes like Antonio Banderas, Jason Statham, and Jet Li...that they can make a good action movie. Unfortunately, it's not the action stars at fault here, its the action! And the action here lacks that edge that Eighties movies had. The explosions are computer generated, the...
