This is a dystopian Sci-Fi film in which teens are trapped in a massive walled glade. They have to learn to get along and each are asked to use their skills to the benefit of the entire group. All of the people are boys. The glade has one entrance, or is it an exit? It opens in the daytime and closes at night. It leads to a colossal maze that changes shape every day and at night it is filled with creatures called grievers that kill whoever remains in the maze. Some of the strongest and fastest boys are chosen to be maze runners and their job is to try to find a way out. In the span of years they have failed after daily excursions into the maze.

A large elevator cage (The Box) pops out of the ground and delivers minimal supplies and a greenie to join the group. The cage will not go back down unless it is empty so no one can escape. Thomas, the newest greenie, is trouble as he is struggling to follow the group's guidelines and he is to inquisitive. He wants out and he will...
A Thrilling Sci-Fi Adventure!
The Maze Runner is one of my favorite YA novels and I was a bit worried about how it would translate it to the screen. Though The Maze Runner takes liberties with its source material, these alterations were extremely necessary to make the story faster paced and work on a visual level. This is definitely one of the best YA adaptations I've ever seen and it's no surprise to me that the producers of this film were also involved in the making of The Fault In Our Stars film.

The special effects in this film are incredibly well-done and the filmmakers brought Dashner's novel to light perfectly. The Grievers weren't quite what I expected, they were frankly even better and more horrifying than I could ever imagine. I'm so glad that they only hinted at the creatures in the promos because it will just add a layer of mystery and horror to audiences' movie experience.

The Maze Runner is an action packed, visually stunning new film that made hold my breath and kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end. The Maze Runner tells the story of Thomas, played by Dylan O'Brien, who wakes up in a giant crate with no memory of his passed. He is taken to "The Glade," a place full of boys who were taken and had their memories erased as well. Thomas soon learns that they are trapped in a giant maze, and once you're stuck inside, you never make it out alive. Everything begins to change when a girl is brought to the Glade and so Thomas decides it is time to face the maze and find the whole truth about the people who placed them there. But the truth they find might be even more horrible than the maze itself.
