In the 9th century, a group of Vikings, is approaching Britain, aiming to plunder the rich monasteries in the north of the island. But their ship gets caught in a storm and is smashed to pieces on the rocks off the coast of Scotland, the only part of Britain without any Viking settlements. Special Feature: NORTHMEN: A Look Inside A Viking Saga

Review :
DAMN IT ASBJORN. I' M A WARRIOR NOT A CLIMBER!
A small boat full of exiled Vikings get marooned on Scotland, which doesn't want them either. Asbjorn (Tom Hopper) leads the group who happen to defeat a troop of soldiers and capture the princess (Charlie Murphy) the film's sole eye candy. They plan to ransom her off to her father for enough money to buy their way into a Viking settlement in the south. The plans go bad when they find out the rescue army wants to kill the princess, which they claim are the orders of the King. The Vikings are aided by a fighting monk (Ryan Kwanten) with a staff. Oh yes the princess can read the ground too. Ed Skrein leads the Scots who appear to be one chromosome away from Orcs.

The film consists of Vikings running away from Scots, getting caught by Scots, fighting Scots and running away from Scots. The love story doesn't develop. The fight scenes weren't bad, but not memorable. Acting isn't bad for people who grunt.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity. Charlie Murphy cleavage. Tom...
I wont steer you wrong
Do not watch this as a serious Viking lore movie. Watch it as a Vikings/Conan film. So much of Middle Earth and the old Conan style fantasy is present and glorious. Plus one of the towers in the movie looks like a tower in skyrim. This is DnD, with a perfect party. Monk/Cleric, Magic User or Druid, a few fighters a barbarian, thief and ranger. Watch it with the right mindset and this thing is Gold.

If You're Looking To Pass Time Until VIKINGS Returns To TV, Then Here's A Reasonable Substitute: NORTHMEN
If you’re looking for something to pass-the-time while waiting for the next big action franchise to come along, then you could do far worse than popping in a disc of NORTHMEN – A VIKING SAGA for an evening’s entertainment. It won’t have the character depth of, say, the History Channel’s exceptional VIKINGS program; and it definitely won’t have all of the spectacular spit-polish of HBO’s GAME OF THRONES. But it will have some passable performances crafted together into an occasionally blood, brutal affair, so there’s something to be said for celebrating this smaller picture.

Review :
Scary good movie, well worth the time..
I thought this film was great! Well written, the actors were all spot-on as their characters AND the characters were all well developed, so you could care about what really happened in this "scary good" movie. I don't want to spoil any of the plot, but as a mother, Diane Lane was creepy in her depiction of the mother ashamed of her daughter's looks, while all the while, being more than just a little loving and caring to the character of "Ronnie", played by Dakota Fanning. I definitely think this a story worth watching, especially in light of just way too many crimes that are being committed by minors in our present day society.

Great Ensemble Cast!
(Every Secret Thing) has an amazing ensemble cast Starring Diane Lane...Elizabeth Banks...Common...Dakota Fanning and Nate Parker. All the acting was amazing by the supporting cast as well.

The story revolves around two young women who were sent to prison as young girls for kidnapping and killing a biracial baby girl. The girls (Dakota Fanning) and (Danielle Macdonald) are released after Seven years and soon after their release, a Three year old biracial girl goes missing from a furniture store while her parents aren't looking.

Detective Nancy Porter (Elizabeth Banks) who found the dead infant reluctantly takes on this missing child case and of course these girls are the main suspects! As the movie goes on, as each girl is interrogated we see each girl's version of what happened the day the baby was kidnapped and and eventually killed.

Diane Lane is perfect as the mother of one of the notorious girls as the role requires almost bi polar type behavior...
Very powerful and suspenseful. Diane Lane is mesmerizing. Great thriller.
Very powerful, atmospheric and suspenseful film. If you like thrillers like 'Prisoners', 'Mystic River', 'Gone Girl', 'Gone Baby Gone' etc you will love this - although this film is also very original. The cast are amazing and all deliver superb performances with Oscar nominee Diane Lane being the standout. Very recommended.
