Okay.... WOW!
Apparently the CW, in conjunction with Warner Bros. television studios, totally gets DC comics because after completely owning the character Green Arrow, they've gone and created a series about another iconic hero from that universe (i.e. The Flash), that's both true to the source-material and possessing all the sophistication of the big-screen.
So, let's see: superhero origin story... check, crossover scene with "Arrow"... check, foreshadowing for future Central City villains... check, great casting all-around... check, lots of eye-candy FX and exciting action... CHECK!!! Those of us who were able to watch episode 8 from Arrow Season 2 already knew who was gonna play Barry Allen, but actor Grant Gustin seems to have already become the part with just a cameo and a single pilot; and then there's Jesse L. Martin playing Detective Joe West, the guy that basically raised Barry and is also his mentor and biggest supporter at C.C.P.D. (where the latter works in forensic...

Having just watched the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. episode ("Fallout") I have to say that I haven't had this much fun watching a season of superhero in quite awhile! I was around for the 1990 Flash and it's very cool that they were able to bring in JWS to play Barry's incarcerated father. I thought the special effects of that older series were "nifty" imagine how I'm reacting to this show's kinetic crackling speed.
Also the writing has been so good and each week we follow this accumulating "trail of bread crumbs" creatively teasing us along. In the beginning the particle accelerator explodes leaving a destroyed lab and they take a moment to show the nametag "Grodd" over a wrecked animal cage. And who else did this blast effect? One guy can control the weather while another can siphon electricity. Add to this a semi-ethical robber and we see "The Rogues" gallery begin to take shape.
