The sequel to the 2012 sleeper hit horror movie. In the aftermath of the shocking events in “Sinister,” a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of “Wayward Pines”) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity.

Review :
One of the few sequels that may actually be better than the original
Nine Things About the Film "Sinister 2"

1. This feverish experience is one of the best horror films of the year.

2. You don't have to see the first movie to see this one, but I highly recommend it. The context of the film won't make a lot of sense without it. And part of the intensity of this movie is because you know the secret, but the people in the movie don't.

3. It follows Deputy So & So after the events of the first film. Obsessed with stopping Bughuul, he comes across a woman with two sons who have unkowingly attracted the pagan deity. While the mother deals with her ex-husband, dead kids appear to one of the boys and show him snuff films in the basement (if the snuff films in the first movie bothered you, you should know that these are worse).

4. As with the first movie, the use of sound in this film is an experience in itself, expertly cutting together music and effects to heighten the hallucinatory nature of what's going...
Here There Be Scary $h!t
Creepy is the best and most appropriate word to describe this movie. I give it 4 stars not because it is an amazing movie, but because it is an amazing movie if you are sitting with the right person. My movie date gets very frightened and that makes this a blast! I have to admit a couple scenes made me jump as well. It is hard to get good movies in this genre, and so much is rehashed and repetitive. Not that different in this movie, but it is executed well, and it works.

Setting is excellent, a farm in Illinois, where I wouldn't dare set foot, and the two young actors as the twins do an admirable job.

Cast is decent:: James Ransone, Shannyn Sossamon, Robert Sloan, Dartanian Sloan and Lea Coco - but you will notice the missing star power of an Ethan Hawke.
Director: Ciaran Foy

Worth seeing, make sure to see it late at night.

A Decent Sequel, But Not Outstanding
I felt that this was a decent movie. It gave a little more insight as
to what was going on with those videotapes from part one and more
insight as to what the "Sinister" entity is all about. But if
definitely had some very slow parts too. Around the middle, I found
myself wanting the movie to pick up its pace. . I say that if you are a
huge fan of "Sinister" 1 like me, this may be an interesting addition
to the franchise, but if you are new to it or looking for something
really scary, you may want to rent this movie before buying it... The movie
was not that bad. It had some disturbing scenes, but I can't say that
it was awesome either.

Review :
Scared the crap out of me
Horror movies these days don't really scare people. The only horror movie to really creep someone out more recently is the
first Paranormal Activity. But that's now been done to death. All horror movies now a days are either remakes or go for shock and become what is the newer term, "torture porn", until now. Sinister came along just in time for all of us to get our
Halloween chills and scared the crap out of America. I have seen a lot of horror. I even go for those really bad SyFy B-rated
ones for laughs. The newer horror doesn't scare because it's predictable and instead it disgusts me. The over use of torture and gore that have nothing to do with the plot. Sinister however does something different. Ethan Hawke plays the character of a true crime writer desperate to live his glory days, almost at the cost of his family. And he plays it well. The violence that actually has to do with the plot was creatively filmed. And because the story was unique and not a rehash,...
Best Horror To Come To The Theater In Years!!!
This movie I have to say, is one of the best horror film's I have seen in theaters since "Orphan" (2009). I don't get scared easily and the movie brought chills down my spine!!! The dialogue in the film was good, the acting was much better than expected (I am a huge fan of Ethan Hawk from Day Breakers, the cinematography was perfect, the story definitely carried out smoothly, and the idea behind the movie and having a descent original supernatural climax was really what kept this movie on the edge of your seat! A lot of horror films in the past that are about supernatural things but end up having a human climax is disappointing to me in most movies (cry wolf, sorority row, etc). The ending really caught me off guard, and ended in a way that makes u feel cold and creeped out. This movie makes you think. I don't know how anyone wouldn't find this film creepy, or sick to say the least and if you don't think so then something is seriously wrong with you. Amazing film! Wish there was an...
'Sinister' delivers the chills
Director Scott Derrickson's latest entry into the horror genre, the aptly titled `Sinister', is an instant classic.

Egomaniacal true-crime novelist, Ellison Oswalt, moves his wife and two kids into the house where an unsettling murder involving a family of five has recently taken place. He plans to write about the incident and the missing child, who was apparently spared and kidnapped by the killer, hoping that he can solve the mystery without the help of the local authorities.

As he stores boxes in the attic, he finds several reels of Super 8 film and a projector. Each film contains increasingly graphic and macabre footage of a family being murdered. Upon further inspection, Ellison discovers that a pale, hollow-eyed figure can be seen lurking in the background in each one of the home movies. A pattern begins to emerge, as Ellison becomes consumed with the dark secrets that lie within the films. Further investigation confirms that there are demonic forces at...
