Hope it gets released soon!
Hope this set comes out soon! This season differs from the previous in that there is continuity between episodes, in that events from one episode carry on into the next. In Season 18, the boys form a start up a kickstarter company called the "Washington Redskins," Randy Marsh reveals his secret identity as pop sensation Lorde, South Park goes gluten-free, Timmy starts his own taxi service, and holograms threaten to change the face of the entertainment industry! For them, it's all just a part of growing up in South Park. It wasn't one of the show's greatest seasons, but it still shows that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are still capable of delivering some of the greatest pop culture satire that the world has ever seen. They're still on the top of their game here, and it shows that all of their work on The Stick of Truth didn't get in the way of what they do best. I'm hoping that the DVD set is released sometime soon, and that Seasons 19 and 20 aren't too far behind!

Some people love this show so much that any criticism is blown ...
Every time I think South Park has run it's course they come out with an episode that makes me want to ROFLMAO. Their still some misses in this season, but I wont name them as either you will agree with me or not. Some people love this show so much that any criticism is blown off. However as a person that has loved this show from the beginning and has bought every dvd collection that has come out, I feel I have every right to voice my opinion on it. This season I would rate a solid B. I wont go into a play by play of every episode their plenty of critics that do that during the run on tv.
Like the simpsons they keep it freash by keeping up with whats going on in the world daily. I think the problem with both series is no matter the story they have to stay true to their charcters and after a while no matter the story its really the same thing over and over. I think south park becasue its more cutting the simpsons still has some life in it but hope, unlike the simpsons,...
This wasn't the greatest season of the shows run
This wasn't the greatest season of the shows run,but had some good ones as well. "go fund yourself" "the cissy" and "cock magic" i think are the best of the season. I also just loved that they put recurring themes throughout the season. Randy as lorde was absolutely hilarious and one of the best things that matt and trey has done since day one of the show. The whole rehash two parter was funny. I liked the whole holograms running around town and having michael jackson back as a hologram was funny........but they just used pewdiepie way way way too much. I used to watch his stuff, but finally came to my senses and stopped watching his channel. Other than that this was a pretty good season and can't wait to pick this one up and officially have all 18 seasons on dvd!!! Also season 19 is on the horizon as well AND the show has been renewed up until the 23rd season!!! A lot of SP still to enjoy!!

Overall a very good season
If you are a huge South Park fan like me, odds are you don't need a review telling you what to expect from season 17. If this is going to be the first South Park you have watched however; this review may help.

Overall, this was a great season. It got off to a great start with episodes like "Let Go, Let Gov" and "World War Zimmerman". There was a slight dip in the writing quality mid-season, and I'd argue that "Ginger Cow" was their weakest episode. Matt and Trey made up for it though with the excellent Black Friday trilogy of episodes parodying Game of Thrones and setting up the story for Matt and Trey's recently released video game "South Park: The Stick of Truth". The season finale was great as well, and it will leave you laughing and a little heart-broken.

I only wanted to take off half a star for the quality dip mid season which is understandable due to Matt and Trey's commitment to the video game and the ongoing success...
Good Episodes and 'Meh just okay' episodes
South Park is hands down one of my all-time favorite shows and I own every season. I usually buy them as soon as a season is released. This season, like I have found with all other seasons of South Park over the last few years, has it's good episodes and it's 'meh just okay' episodes. All in all it was a good season though.

I loved that they did another trilogy and those 3 episodes are by far the best and worth the $20 for this season (Black Friday, A Song of Ass and Fire, and Titties and Dragons). This was obviously a great way to also promote their new video game The Stick of Truth (which is also AMAZING and any South Park fan should pick it up) as it was released shortly after this season and follows the same theme. There were also a couple other episodes that were good and worth watching. It almost feels like are slightly losing their touch with this show however. It doesn't have the same oomph that it used to. It is still extremely amusing but over the last couple of...
Great South Park Season
The 17th season of South Park had some very funny and memorable episodes in it. I especially liked the new goth kids episode, and the three part Black-Friday Episodes. Season 17 blu-ray will include Mini-Commentaries for Each Episode with Parker and Stone, Deleted Scenes and possibly more special that haven't been announce yet. So, the bottom line is that this season is just as funny as South Park has always been, and belongs in your collection.
Episodes:
17.01: Let Go, Let Gov
17.02: Informative Murder Porn
17.03: World War Zimmerman
17.04: Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers
17.05: Taming Strange
17.06: Ginger Cow
17.07: Black Friday
17.08: A Song of Ass and Fire
17.09: Titties and Dragons
17.10: The Hobbit

South Park: Season 9 On Sale

Description : Catch haulers special movie This kind of South Park: Season 9 does fantastic, simple to operate along with alter. The price for this became dramatically reduced as compered to other places I researches, rather than considerably more compared to related merchendise

This unique item provides overtake out anticipation, this one has become a wonderfull upgrade on personally, The theory arrived correctly along with speedily South Park: Season 9

All fourteen episodes from South Park’s infamous ninth season are now available for the first time in this exclusive 3-disc collector’s set. This season features Kenny’s epic battle between heaven and hell, uprising of redheads and adventures surrounding a certain closet. For these boys, it’s all part of growing up in South Park!A lot can happen in the middle of nowhere. The tiny mountain town of South Park, Colorado has proven that beyond a doubt for the last eight seasons. Fortunately for fans of this Comedy Central pillar, series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker obviously had no lack of ideas for their ninth season. Over the course of fourteen episodes, Mr. Garrison gets a sex change, Cartman thwarts a hippie music festival that threatens to destroy the town, the boys (Cartman, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny) start a talent agency, Kenny leads angelic forces in an epic battle against Satan’s minions at the gates of heaven, and the boys become really bad at losing at baseball. And that’s just the first half of the season. The most notable episode from this season is definitely the controversial "Trapped in the Closet," where Stan is "recognized" as the reincarnation of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and a dejected Tom Cruise locks himself in Stan’s closet. Naturally, over the course of the episode, TV reporters get to decry that "Tom Cruise still won’t come out of the closet." It's funny enough on its own, but when John Travolta and R. Kelly end up in the closet as well (all singing together "Now I’m trapped in the closet. I’m trapped in the closet too"), that’s worth the price of the set on its own.

After nine seasons it’s also nice to see that one of the series key running gags, the perpetual cluelessness of the adults, still isn’t getting old. It's as if the adult townspeople only know how to behave based on movies they’ve seen (this season’s cinematic targets include Rocky (in "The Losing Edge"), The Day After Tomorrow ("Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow"), and Pet Cemetery ("Marjorine"), and their inevitably clichéd over-reactions still provide many of the show’s best moments. The commentaries from Parker and Stone are once again typically short; they usually last only a few minutes into each show before they end it with "Ok, onto the next show now" not even trying to conceal that they really want to get through the recording session as quickly as possible. That might seem lame on other shows, but on South Park--a show where 8-year-olds send a talking killer whale to the moon through the Mexican Space Agency for $200,--somehow it’s totally fitting. --Daniel Vancini

"These guys practiced and got really good at sucking"---Stan
For the last few seasons, each new season of South Park became my favorite. The trend almost continued with Season 9 but I don't think it is quite as solid as Season 8, but close. Still there are several slam-dunk episodes in this set: "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New V---," "The Losing Edge," "The Death of Eric Cartman," "Follow That Egg," and "Bloody Mary." Either "Mr. Garrison's...," "Follow That Egg," or "Bloody Mary" is my favorite, it's difficult to choose. There are other excellent eps as well like "Best Friends Forever" (which won an Emmy), "Erection Day," "Two Days Before...," and "Marjorine." This set also has the controversial episode "Trapped in the Closet" about Tom Cruise and Scientology that caused the "Chef" Isaac Hayes falling out. Jam-packed with quality SP humor taking current events and issues waaaay over-the-top, here's what you get:

Disc 1:

"Mr. Garrison's Fancy New V..." Kyle is depressed that Jew's can't play basketball. Inspired by Mr...
Social Commentary with a Kick
Genius. South Park has provided comic relief for todays problems for ten gut wrenching years. Story lines often seem to be plucked from the days headlines. Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Eric provide the laughs and social commentary, which echo true common sense. South Park is a counter move to the politically correct world in which we live. South Park is animation for adults plain and simple, and I hope to see the boys of South Park learn lessons and provide their unique brand of insight for many years to come.

Marjorine Rocks
"South Park" is one of the most clever series programs in the entire history of American television. Because Trey & Matt (the creaters, cartoonists, writers, voices & just about everything else) have a percise acuteness to satire and comedy. Each season it only gets better. This series has never "jumped the shark" because "South Park" is the type of series that doesn't take themselves too serious and doesn't try to be anything they're not.

Season Nine (includes a total of fourteen eps) of this modern-day classic is hands down, bar none, perfect television viewing. Some of the highlights from this season include: Mrs. Garrison's gender reassignment operation, the sweet sounds of Wing, Jimmy taking matters into his own hands and of course who could forget about Tom Cruise being trapped in the perpetual closet! But my favorite ep from this season revolves around my favorite "South Park" resident, Eric Cartman; in this installmant, Cartman found out what it was like to be dead...
