Review :
No-spoilers review--and you really need that for Orphan Black
If ever a TV show needed a no-spoilers review it's this one. The trouble is, everything's a spoiler when "Orphan Black" is concerned, and the less you know going in, the more fun you'll have with this show's onrushing tidal wave of plot twists and turns.

So--what can I tell you that will let you know whether you want to see this or not without spilling all those beans? Well, I'll try.

1. Don't see this if you need glossy, upbeat Hollywoody science fiction. There isn't a single Dudly Do-Right in the entire cast of characters. Everyone has issues. Everyone has baggage. Problems can't always be solved by sweet reason, Star Trek style. And who's a Good Guy or a Bad Guy isn't always clear, even when you learn just who and what they are. And with some of the more damaged characters, they can't necessarily be fixed--ever. Some things you can't come back from. And problems don't have quick fixes. That is, there's no pandering to your inner 12 year old. This is a show for...
Best beginning to a series.
I'm hard to impress about TV shows, especially beginnings. First episodes-- even for good ones-- can be awkward, with the cast and writers not yet finding the chemistry.

This one hit managed to hit maximum speed seconds after it began, and then spent the rest of the show proving there was more to spare. Somehow, it did this without sacrificing character development. Thanks to co-creator John Fawcett's taut direction, and remarkable performances by Tatiana Maslani as three physically identical women with distinct personalities, accents and mannerisms. She even plays one mimicking another, with her cockney accent wavering.

The story is about Sarah, a young woman surviving on the margins as a hustler and a drug dealer, who's just walked out on her boyfriend. She witnesses a stranger identical to herself, Beth, commit suicide. Sarah steals and assumes her identity. Despite the fact that Sarah had little to lose, it turns out this was not the best move. The mysterious...
Remarkable series!
You hear the buzz. Everyone talking about Tatiana Muslany's acting and how she was worse than snubbed for the Emmy's - find out why.

I didn't watch this show live, I bought the DVD and watched it because of this very thing and I am here to tell you that the world was not wrong.

Amazing show. Her acting is just BEYOND. Honestly I can't think of a single acting performance, male or female, TV or movie, that comes even slightly close to what Muslany does in Orphan Black. It is astonishing. Simply astonishing.

The first 2 episodes are kinda set up, but after that... Wow. Honestly by episode 3 or 4 you have to remind yourself that it is only one actress playing these parts. By episode 5 you aren't even thinking about it anymore you are just enjoying the ride.

With only 10 episodes you can easily watch this entire show on a Saturday or weekend, which is a good thing because once you step into this world you will want to keep watching. The subject...

Review :
In for the long haul.
"Orphan Black is a show that I would be unlikely to watch. Not my choice of viewing fare". These were my thoughts when the BBCA started promoting OB for the first season. I was running out of shows I do enjoy, and thought I'd just take a chance, step outside my viewing comfort zone and give OB a try. Major score on my part. The show has a nice little plot line that could quickly grow stale if mishandled. The direction, filming and writing have been outstanding from the start. There's no notable difference from episode 1, season 1 than the end of season 2. The cast? I'm sure many have read the reviews, the feedback on the cast and if you think it's all media hype, you're mistaken. And yes, Tatiana Maslany is everything she's stated to be and more. How in the world she's not been nominated for an Emmy is beyond me but her fans and the fans of Orphan Black are all she really needs. She'll do more in the future but please, let's not get too far ahead. We need many more seasons of...
I love the story
I love the story, the suspense, the drama, the action, and the fact that so many new and important events take place in each episode. You never get bored. The actress that plays all the characters is very versatile. As intense as the series is, there are many entertaining things that happen as well. I have found myself laughing when I should have been covering my eyes and screaming. I really like Helena. She is my favorite. An unpredictable lunatic who will capture your heart. I would like to say a lot more, but I don't want to spoil it for you. I can only assure you, that you will like it so much that hours will fly while you watch it, and you won't even realize it.

The best show you aren't, but should be, watching!
I cannot wait for Season Three to start! My Mom introduced me to this show last March. She had downloaded them onto my Kindle and told me to watch. And I watched, for seven and a half hours straight. The first time. I watched the first season four times in the two weeks before the second season started. It's that good. Tatiana Maslany is amazing as Sarah, Cosima, Helena, Allison, Beth, Rachel, Katya, Jennifer, etc. (Don't worry, you won't have to keep up with all of those characters!) Before she opens her mouth you can tell which of the characters she's channeling, not because of the different hairstyles or clothes, but because she's made them each a different woman. When I watch the show, it's so easy to believe I'm watching different actors playing different characters. When Allison steps in to help Sarah, by pretending she is Sarah, what you see is Allison pretending to be Sarah, not Tatiana being Sarah. The entire cast is brilliant, and they each hold their own against these crazy...

Review :
The Lost Disney Animated Movie...
Not too many remember when this movie was released... it BOMBED in theatres.
Why?
For starters, no one was ready for a PG rated Disney cartoon... especially one that IS NOT a musical. I think it lasted about two weeks in the theaters, then Disney pulled it.

(Something else people might not realize is that, while a failure in theaters, The Black Cauldron was modified and ported over into TV. It became one of Disney's most successful animated TV series: The Gummy Bears. While Taran, Eilonwy, and Creeper are renamed and not the main characters, they are in there!)

Left in the Disney vaults until 1998, this now restored full-length animated feature is a gem, if not a bit rough around the edges. Without your standard "filler" material of songs and silly dancing, The Black Cauldron uses dialog, stunning animation, and action to keep it moving.

The movie is dark, foreboding, and just plain creepy. It is rated PG, and I DO NOT recommend letting...
One of Disney's most enchanting (and unappriciated) classics
Being an avid Disney video collector, I of course saw trailers for this release hitched onto other 1998 tapes, and was genuinely amazed with them alone. Needless to say I ran out to the store August 4 of that year to buy my copy of this never-before-released-on-video animated Disney flick and popped it into the VCR as soon as I got home. I honestly do not understand why so many people who have reviewed this movie have called it bad. Sure, it's different, and yes, it did recieve a PG rating, but those are not nessesarily bad things. And, yes, appearently it IS different from the book, but, putting all of that aside, it is a WONDERFUL movie, and, unlike some reviewers, I'm very glad that they let it out of the vaults.
Taran, dreams of being an incridible warrior, but soon finds himself reduced to searching for Hen Wen, a young pig he tends to that has run away. This eventually leads to his embarking on a quest to find the mythical Black Cauldron, which gives the one who bears...
f you haven't watched "The Black Cauldron" definitely give this 25th Anniversary edition on DVD a chance!
In 1985, Walt Disney Pictures released their 25th animated feature in July 1985. The animated film "The Black Cauldron" is based on the first two novels of Lloyd Alexander's "Chronicles of Prydain" books (a total of five novels were created from 1964-1968) and is based on Welsh mythology.

"The Black Cauldron" is the first Disney film to utilize the APT process (a photographic transfer system that can transfer lines or solid blocks of colors onto cels) and as most new animated technology, the film was quite expensive to make.

It was also a Disney film in which it was an interesting risk for the company as the studio wanted to created a PG-rated animated film, especially since the original books that the animated film was adapted from, was quite dark. Because the animated film was not a musical nor was it a happy, uplifting film that many young children would want to see, the film didn't perform quite well in the box office (the film was budgeted at $25 million...

Black Lagoon: Season 1 & 2 (Blu-ray + DVD) Discount !!

Title : Black Lagoon: Season 1 & 2 (Blu-ray + DVD)
Category: TV
Brand: Black Lagoon
Item Page Download URL : Download Movie
Rating : 4.8
Buyer Review : 307

Description : Timepiece haulers video This specific Black Lagoon: Season 1 & 2 (Blu-ray + DVD) does excellent, simple to use as well as adjust. The cost of this became lower as compered to other locations we investigates, rather than far more as compared to comparable product or service

This unique obcject gives surpasses the prospect, this place has become a amazing upgrade on me personally, The concept appeared securely and swiftly Black Lagoon: Season 1 & 2 (Blu-ray + DVD)

Rokuro's mundane trip to South East Asia turns from pleasure cruise to festival of pain when modern-day pirates take him hostage. Revy, Dutch, and Benny are the ruthless crew of the Black Lagoon. For them, getting shot at while smuggling drugs, guns, and stolen goods is part of a typical day at work - and Rokuro is joining the team. The action-adventure series Black Lagoon (2006) shoots off more ammunition than a Clint Eastwood film festival. Rokura Okajima, a minor flunky in a major corporation, thinks his life is over when he's kidnapped by pirates, but it's only his business career that ends. He joins the pirates as "Rock," and the trio of Dutch, the understated leader; happy-go-lucky techie Benny; and trigger-happy, potty-mouthed Revy becomes a quartet. They're less pirates than soldiers of fortune, ready to do anything if the price is right. They pursue adventures involving treasure left on a sunken World War II U-boat, pornographers, drug- and arms-dealing nuns, kidnappers, and a terrorist plot to blow up US embassies. The second season of Black Lagoon ratchets up the action and the violence, as two sadistic assassins throw the underworld into an uproar: a pair of Romanian orphans who developed a taste for cruelty performing in snuff films. But most of the Second Barrage focuses on Rock serving as a translator when Russian crime boss Lady Balalaika intervenes in a yakuza gang war in Tokyo. Revy serves as his bodyguard, leaving Benny and Dutch behind. Rock falls for Yukio, a high school girl who succeeds her father as head of the Washimine crime syndicate. When Lady Balalaika comments, "We're all going to be knee-deep in blood before this ends," she isn't kidding. The Russian gangsters, who command more men, vehicles, and weapons than many national armies, quickly exterminate most of the Washimine gang. Amid the carnage, Yukio complains bitterly (and seriously), "Honor and justice are dead." Although bullets, blood, and four-letter words fly, it doesn't add up to much. The gun battles, car chases, knife fights, and explosions take up so much screen time, there's little left for character development or a coherent narrative. Extremely violent, misogynistic, and profane, Black Lagoon is not for squeamish or easily offended viewers. (Rated TV MA: graphic violence, violence against women, extensive profanity, grotesque imagery, alcohol and tobacco use, racial slurs, offensive ethnic stereotypes, Nazi imagery, offensive religious imagery, references to child pornography, suggested incest and torture) --Charles Solomon

Review :
The Complete Funimation Release At Last
For many fans of the franchise, it is incredible news that Funimation has decided to assemble the full previously Geneon-exclusive property and release it as a complete series box set.

Black Lagoon is one of those rare anime titles that manage to combine a near endless succession of violence and gunplay with a gritty back-story that provides far more than just a catalyst to advance the action-sequences along. Thanks to collaboration between Geneon Entertainment and Funimation, the Black Lagoon series is one of several titles in which while Geneon retains the license, Funimation holds the rights to the manufacturing, marketing, sales and distribution in North America.

In terms of the Black Lagoon mythos, The Complete Box Set represents the full two-season run of the anime, which was itself based on a manga written and illustrated by Rei Hiroe.

Released across eight discs (thin packs) and packaged within a cardboard outer slipcase, The Complete Box Set...
(4.5 stars) If you are an anime fan who craves action with a well-written storyline, "Black Lagoon" is recommended on Blu-ray!
In 2002, Rei Hiroe ("Gunparade March", "Phantom Bullet", "Blade Guns") would create his latest manga "Black Lagoon". Featured on Shogakukan's "Monthly Sunday Gene-X" and still an ongoing series today, the manga series would receive an anime adaptation by Studio Madhouse in 2006. The first "Black Lagoon" series featured 12 episodes and several months later, the second season titled "The Second Barrage" would air in Japan. And in 2010, the OVA series titled "Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail" was released in Japan via OVA.

Both seasons were released on DVD in the U.S. back in 2008 and 2009 from Geneon Entertainment and FUNimation Entertainment and aired on television via Starz Edge. And now the series will be released on Blu-ray as a complete set (not including the OVA's) in December 2012 courtesy of FUNimation Entertainment.

"Black Lagoon" is a series that has a strong following in the U.S. According to Rei Hiroe, the series was inspired by James Ellroy,...
A classic in its own right, near Bebop perfection....
Although it lacks the nuance and subtlety of Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon more
than makes up for that with fast moving stories and almost non-stop action and
mayhem. Black Lagoon has all the elements that made Bebop so good but it is
darker in vision and definitely way more violent. The music is well done, it's not
Yoko Kanno, but interesting enough for me to order the soundtrack, which is
available off Amazon for less than half the price here.* The packaging is weak.
Comes in a flimsy thin box. Using two discs for the bonus material is a waste
as neither is "loaded" with features. Lastly, there is humor and light moments
in this series to keep it balanced like Bebop and all the characters are interesting.
The Taiwan assassin "Chinglish" was a favorite and Sister Etta with her Rip Off
Church is an original twist. Nuns with guns. Revy is basically Faye from Bebop
on steriods but more in attitude and bloodlust than appearance...
