I could tell im already going to love this set I've been waiting for the third volume much like with ecw volume 3 unreleased this is worth it especially if you own the others so it wasn't a hard choice for me to want to own this dvd and complete my collection thank you amazon pre ordered it straight off them. The Good Old Days...
As host DDP predicted at the end of Volume 2, here we are with more Monday Nitro action--and back as host once again is the 3 time, 3 time, 3 time World Champion, Diamond Dallas Page. It's always good to go back and revisit what was the wrestling business at its peak, during the awesome Monday Night War between WCW and the WWF--now, of course, WWE who own the entire NWA/WCW video library.

I'm still wondering however about some of the material not used--i.e., the many awesome promos that Ric Flair cut not only on Nitro, but Thunder as well. Even when WCW was at its lowest points--the low point being Vince Russo in charge--it seemed that we the viewers could always count on the Nature Boy to cut some of the most entertaining promos in the business.

But--as I said on another review--it seems requisite to point out what WWE didn't include on these wrestling collections. And I'm wondering if I'll do the same sort of griping when the new Sting DVD comes out in a few...

If it's even close to as good as volumes 1 and 2, we're in for a treat!

I have volumes 1 and 2, so I can't wait for this! When they say the "best of," they really mean it. These collections provide some great behind the scenes stories from host Diamond Dallas Page, as well as the most hard-hitting matches, and most memorable promos from the glory days of the WCW/nWo war.

If you watched wrestling at all in the mid to late 90's, pick up volumes 1 and 2 now, you won't regret it!

I do have one complaint though...since it's presented by WWE so long after the buyout, they changed a LOT of the audio. For example, Goldberg's theme song is changed in all matches to that of his WWE appearances, and since they doctored the audio, you can hear the audio track of the crowd cheering loop over and over. It's not a big enough complaint to suggest not buying it, but it does wear on you in the first few matches.

Still a great show years later!

I think I have reviews on all three volumes of these now. This show is still extremely entertaining to me even though it is an old show. I bought it for my kids to watch but I often times sit down and watch it with them. I always thought I had a good memory, but I honestly don't remember half of the shows. I'm glad I got them on DVD so we can take them with us when we visit family and I can test out my siblings' memory, too!

I like the show. & I'm not just talking about Volume 1, I mean all 3 volumes. & there are plenty of episodes I do remember that just aren't here in these Volumes. Its too bad they couldn't have included every episode that was ever made, Instead of only giving us the episodes they think is most popular. All I got is the memories. & I guess I'll never see them again. I do recall memories on some episodes that aren't in none of these 3 volumes, (one is where Scrooge is trying to return an idol or something to the place he found it, if he doesn't do it at a specific time the entire planet will turn to gold & some of them were frozen for a while.) (& in another one Scrooge gets amnesia.) If your looking for one of the best shows I knew from the 80's this is truly it! At least from Disney I mean, not even the Smurf's can top...

You wouldn't buy or download a CD without knowing what was on it, would you? So why would you buy this DVD collection without knowing its contents?
So first off, its contents. Why Amazon doesn't list this info is beyond me. This is a collection of 50 vintage Warner Brothers cartoons, many of which are classics.

Fans of Marvin the Martian or Taz? This set has got you covered!
The main draw for me to purchase this set was that it included the complete collection of Marvin the Martian and Taz cartoons, as I already have the 6 Golden Collections and all the Superstars discs. Well after getting it and watching some of the cartoons my mind was blown as to how well the cartoons look on a 1080p set. The colors pop as if they were produced just yesterday. Although in some of the cartoons scratches and dust are more noticeable (one has to remember that these cartoons were made around 60-70 years ago), but it does not detract from the overall experience.

Also included in the collector's set is a certificate of authenticity,a framed lithograph titled "The Looney Tunes March," a tin sign that features Bugs and Daffy, and of all things a Bugs Bunny shot glass. According to the box, only 36,000 of these sets were produced, so for die-hard Looney Tunes collectors this might be right up your alley!

This review may seem contradictory, this is a five-star set of cartoons presented in a five-star Blu-ray release, and I have to rate this set on those merits. But there are some things not five-star for those of us who have been collecting the Golden Collections on DVD.

O.K, , you are probably saying "These Looney Tunes Blu-ray titles seem familiar", that is because just about all of them have been released on the DVD Golden, Oscar, & Superstars Collections. Why? Because when they were restored for those Collections they were restored in Hi-Definition 1080p, so Warner had an easy Blu-ray release here with out spending much money for new film transfers.

This means that unlike the "Wow" effect we got when we first saw the Golden Collection DVDs after watching washed out Laserdiscs & VHS tapes, this time we will see the same film transfers with improved restoration in 1080p resolution. I have seen the Blu-ray...

Excellent Material Throughout, But Where's the Rest?
The six volumes of WB cartoons in these set contain a total of 24 discs. After buying each volume, one at a time, I thought that I finally had a comprehensive collection of all the best WB cartoons ever made. Unfortunately, I was mistaken. Sorry to be a "glass half empty" guy, but a large number of memorable Looney Tunes classics were somehow left out!

There is easily enough good material to fill another 4-disc volume! I wish Warner Brothers went up to seven volumes instead of stopping at six. Seven volumes (of about 60 cartoons each) would have been the ideal number in order to include all the best.

The cartoons on this set all have superb picture quality, especially considering how old some of them are. (Compare some of the cartoons in this set with the same WB cartoons in cheap public domain collections and you'll see what I mean!)

Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 1-6 collects all 6 volumes of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection (24 DVDs in total) into one package, at a very low price. I bought all 6 volumes separately years ago, and have been enjoying them immensely.

What you get here is a huge amount of cartoons with Bugs, Daffy, Porky, and Elmer, as well as a decent amount of Tweety and Sylvester, Road Runner, Speedy Gonzales, and Yosemite Sam. Foghorn Leghorn and Pepe Le Pew also appear, although they are underrepresented in this set.

There are also cartoons featuring more obscure characters such as Marvin the Martian, Tasmanian Devil, Hubie and Berty, Marc Antony and Pussyfoot, Chuck Jones' Three Bears, Witch Hazel, Michigan J. Frog, Owl Jolson, Buddy, Bosko, and many others, as well as some characters who were never named. Some of the cartoons here are old black and white cartoons from the early 1930s which I had never seen before.

I love the Looney Toons but have been apprehensive up to this point at the prospect of hunting down individual volumes of the golden collection. Thankfully my patience has been rewarded by this beautiful box set. It's incredible to have 350+ films together in one package. The box art is fun and the presentation of each volume is pleasing. See my pics and you'll see that they didn't skimp on the individual cases to each volume. They could have crammed the discs into smaller cases but they didn't. At $90 this is an incredible value, as each individual volume retailed for $50. The special features are very thoughtful and well researched and truly delve into the back story of the people who made this series as timeless and beloved as it is today. This is an absolute must for those who, like me, have waited for the compilation. If you have collected the individual volumes in the past there isn't anything new for you, however.
